The aim of the course
This is an Aviation English course for engineers.
The aim of the course is to develop and improve both the receptive and productive language skills (B2 level) of engineers working in the field of aviation, with a specific focus on vocabulary and oral communication between specialists working in the international community and using English as a second language.
Course Description
This course consists of 8 modules, each of which includes different tasks. Each module will take two weeks, except for the first one. In each module, there will be tasks to practice listening, reading and vocabulary. The aim of the course is to develop communication skills between specialists, therefore grammar will not have a specific focus.
Course Requirements
To succeed on the course, you will need to follow the syllabus and be prepared to discuss the readings in-depth when you come to class, to learn new vocabulary, to complete given assignments, and to be prepared to work with different online applications.
During the term you will be required:
- to take part in weekly classes;
- to prepare visual glossaries;
- to create infographics;
- to complete and present the final project
Evaluation
Participation in the course will be evaluated by the following score-rating system.The final evaluation consists of an assessment of a visual glossary (max 5) and the final project (max 15), (students will be permitted to select which visual glossary to present for evaluation).
